Business Travel as a Tax Deduction

Interested in minimizing your business taxes even further? You can include business travel as a tax deduction, and these travel expenses can usually be deducted at 100 percent. The only requirement for the travel, however, is that the expenses must actually reflect travel that is related to the business. In addition, there must not have been any other reimbursements from any other third party.

When travelling for business purposes, you should keep records of your receipts. You should also log down any of your expenses so that any auditor can easily confirm your business travel. The type of expenses that can fall under this tax deduction include accommodation and transportation. However, expenses for any family members or friends who come with you will not be counted.
