UK Small Business News on VAT Rise

The value added tax (VAT) in Britain has been raised to 20%, and recent research suggests that this is viewed as bad UK small business news by about 40% of British entrepreneurs. Some are very concerned about the impact this rise will have on the UK economy and their businesses. In addition, rising inflation seems to be having an even bigger impact on their business plans, with almost 60% saying that they've had to make changes to their business plans as a result.

Some have even had to close their business as a result, or at least reduce their staff. In spite of these negatives, many entrepreneurs are feeling optimistic about their prospects for the coming year then they did in 2010, as they see more opportunities to profit then they did last year.
